This office was first opened in April of 2001, starting out with one permanent rental management and initially trading as David Preston Real Estate. In those early days David Preston earnt a solid reputation in delivering results for owners and personal attention for owners that chose to manage or sell their property through this office.
Romana Preston (David's Mum) was in the office for the first six months as Receptionist whilst the business was established but then returned to her position at Banora Point School and John Preston (Romana's Husband) join David in the office part time so that there was someone in the office when he had to go out on sales and rental appointments. In those early days David was juggling appointments around the hours that his father was in the office, sometimes, in desperate circumstances, having to lock up going out on appointments and having to divert the phones in emergencies.
In 2005 Romana decided to take long service leave from her 35 years at Banora Point School and joined us as office receptionist and part time as Office Salesperson. John Preston left us, finally starting enjoying his retirement. Romana's personal attention and her pleasant manner produced strong business growth and in 2006 went from a part time salesperson position to a full time position. The following year the business was renamed Kingscliff Sales and Rentals. The name change was decided after finding that no one in Australia had registered Sales and Rentals as a business name or website domain. As nearly all real estate agents do sales and rentals the business and web name change was too good an opportunity not to use, and it was the perfect time as the office was growing strongly in both a client and staff levels. Romana dedicated herself to the job of sales and between 2005 and 2011 sold nearly 200 properties. Romana was sadly diagnosed with ovarian cancer and passed away in May 2012. She is missed so very much
We strive to market properties as best we can. We go to extreme lengths to showcase them, using quality cameras and lighting to produce the best possible images, using photoshop and other photo programs to ensure they offer the best viewing experience online and in promotional material. Most properties will have over 15 quality images of the property and most properties have aerial images (for Kingscliff and Fingal properties) showing the location of the property. This is what sets us apart from our competitors.
In 2011 we started property video production and we do this for rentals, sales and holiday lettings. These videos are produced through a youtube channel and embedded into our website. Up till September 2011 we have had just under 15000 youtube video views and in this month there were 1500 video views over the last 30 days. This is a form of marketing that so many agents overlook.
We moved office in 2012 into much bigger premises located at 2/110 Marine Parade Kingscliff.
Kingscliff Sales and Rentals continues being an independant agency as David Preston feels that personal reputation is very important in this business and continues trading as an Independant Agency and not a franchised office. This office is a member of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales. These days we have 5 office staff and 2 sales staff.
