This office was first opened in April of 2001, starting out with one permanent rental management and initially trading as David Preston Real Estate. In those early days David Preston earnt a solid reputation in delivering results for owners and personal attention for owners that chose to manage or sell their property through this office.

Romana Preston (David's Mum) was in the office for the first six months as Receptionist whilst the business was established but then returned to her position at Banora Point School and John Preston (Romana's Husband) join David in the office part time so that there was someone in the office when he had to go out on sales and rental appointments. In those early days David was juggling appointments around the hours that his father was in the office, sometimes, in desperate circumstances, having to lock up going out on appointments and having to divert the phones in emergencies.

In 2005 Romana decided to take long service leave from her 35 years at Banora Point School and joined us as office receptionist and part time as Office Salesperson.  John Preston left us, finally starting enjoying his retirement. Romana's personal attention and her pleasant manner produced strong business growth and in 2006 went from a part time salesperson position to a full time position. In April 2006 saw a full time Property Manager join us to manage the growing permanent rental portfolio.

The following year the business was renamed Kingscliff Sales and Rentals. The name change was decided after finding that no one in Australia had registered Sales and Rentals as a business name or website domain. As nearly all real estate agents do sales and rentals the business and web name change was too good an opportunity not to use, and it was the perfect time  as the office was growing strongly in both a client and staff levels. A new look website was developed to the one we use today. We also went out and bought quality digital SLR cameras, lenses and external flashes, and started the mammoth task of rephotographing every property under management. The same time is taken to photograph properties for sale as well as rental and holidays under management. We try to display on the website, where possible 20 or more photos of each property as websites do produce results. We pride ourselves on our digital photography in our website and should point out that all the photographs in our website have been taken by our staff including aerial photography. It is the personal attention to detail that sets us apart from our competitors. We may re-visit a property many times to produce that perfect website display.

With the change of business name came a change in office fitout to ensure that more staff could be accommodated in what we call our "little" office. Later that year in 2007 a change of office fitout ensured a full time Holiday Manager Position could also be accommodated in the office and in 2008 also saw a part time Property Runner employed to attend to all the running around that is involved Property Management to effectively manage properties.

Kingscliff Sales and Rentals continues being an independant agency as David Preston feels that personal reputation is very important in this business and continues trading as an Independant Agency and not a franchised office. This office is a member of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales.

David is also on the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales Holiday and Short Term Letting Chapter where he is involved in introducing Best Practice Guidelines for Real Estate Agents. He became involved in this due to the actions of Local Councils, not only in this area but also across NSW effectively banning holiday letting.

We, as an office today strive to offer to clients the best possible professional and personal service for a competitive fee.
